Crawling CUBS fan

Alana has learned to crawl! It was a quick transition, but pretty much a few days after she got here, she became a crawler (I will post more of her first crawling later!). As you can see below, she is crawling like a champ and is now pulling herself up too. Scared that walking is just around the corner!!!

Erik arrived and we all took her to the Cubs v Giants game in San Francisco. Clearly I dressed her in my likeness! She was not too thrilled with the game until after she got a snooze!

Out & About in SF--Gay Pride Parade

The Gay Pride Parade took place our first weekend in SF. Grandma & Papa took Alana to the parade to check it out. Apparently the floats and costumes were fabulous. Alana seemed to enjoy herself too! According to Grandma, there was a nude man standing next to them the entire time. Good thing she is too young to remember that!

Out & About in SF--part 1

Grandma and Papa have taken Alana all over the city while I slave away at trial! Here are some cute pics of her at the Ferry Building and with the Bay Bridge behind her.

Flying to SF!

Grandma and Papa graciously agreed to take Alana out to San Francisco so she could stay with me while I am out here for trial. Here is the semi frequent flier jamming out to the ipod (not really!).

6th Month Shots

I am clearly WAY behind in blogging....I will update with all of her new developments, but thought I would start by including some cute pics on her 6 month bday--May 22, 2008! At 6 months, Alana was eating all sorts of food and just starting to prop herself up on her knees and sway back and forth. We were starting to sense that mobility was right around the corner.

Summer in San Fran

Alana is off tomorrow with Grandma & Papa to join me in San Francisco for this trial! I have been here for a few days and can't wait for her to come!!! We will be sure to keep the blog updated so that Dad can see what Alana is up to before he gets here!

Can't wait for this trial to be over!!!!

Getting Into Everything!

After avoiding tummy time for her first 6 months, Alana is now rolling and propping up on her hands and knees. She is now doing some scooting, though mostly backwards. She reaches for everything (of course, to put it in her mouth!) and does not get (too) upset when she is on her belly.
She is getting better and better about sleeping too. She is at about 2-3 naps a day, sometimes as long as 2 hours each. She is going to bed around 8:30 or 9pm. It usually takes about 5 minutes or so, and then she goes right to sleep. I don't have the will power to let her cry it out, so it usually takes one replacement of the pacifier and she is fast asleep. Usually the only time she gets really frazzled is when she flips over to her belly and can't figure out how to get back. This am, we found her on her belly! Hopefully the belly action will become less and less traumatizing!

Swing Photo Overload!

Sorry about the overload of swing photos! But, I could not resist positng these. Here she is at the park by our house. Erik always lays on the ground under the swing while he pushes her. She thinks it is pretty hilarious as you can tell!

Enjoying the Nice Weather!

We have really been trying to enjoy the nice weather lately, especially because Alana loves getting outside! Now that she can sit up, she really loves going in the swings. Erik pushes her high and she laughs and smiles. Of course I tell him not to push her so high, but they both ignore me! I think Alana has inherited her Dad's daredevil spirit!
