Alana still loves the jumperoo!

Alana is still loving her jumperoo! We had to move the seat up a bit because she was getting too much air. She still jumps around in it like a little monkey. We actually bought one for my mom's house too, but it doesn't make the monkey and elephant sounds so she gets rather annoyed....

Sleepy girl...

We leave the camera at home for Alana's nanny, Shilvon, so she can capture any cute moments for us during the day. Here are some pictures she snapped of Alana sleeping with her bunny. I love how she has a tight grip on him in the bottom picture!

Money, Money, Money

So this is what happens when Dad has $2,000 in cash (for our bathroom remodel that is STILL not finished....) and I get home late.

Learning to sit

Though she can now pretty much sit up on her own (photos to come of that here shortly!), here she is in early April sitting in the chair in her room. In about a month's time, she has come close to mastering sitting up. We definitely have some spills still, but she is learning to balance pretty well. Here she is lounging in her room while I put clothes away. She was super smiley and laughing, though as soon as my flash went off, she got all serious! I have about seven pictures where she kept making the same serious face!

No crawling anytime soon!

Here are some photos from late March of Alana working on tummy time. We are trying to get her to roll on to her belly. I love her face in the first picture. It's like she knows what is coming next!

SO serious!!!

Blogging slacker...

After such a strong start, clearly I am a total blogging slacker right now. In my defense, work has been crazy and I am slowly recovering from laryngitis....
Here is an update on her and a PROMISE to post some photos hopefully later tonight (i keep them all on the home computer). Alana, however, is getting stronger by the day. I am guessing she weighs about 16-17 pounds at this point. She LOVES eating from the spoon and doesn't really cringe at anything we give her. We tried sweet potatoes for the first time and she didn't even miss a beat. We are slowly incorporating more & more food and so far, she is not a picky eater. Let's hope that keeps up!!!
She smiles all the time and is a very vocal gal. She still has her short fuse though, especially when she's really tired. She is still sleeping through the night (last night--9pm to 7am!) and loves to get in bed with us in the morning. She still hates tummy time and is getting better and better at sitting up. She has figured out if she locks on her feet, she can stay a bit more steady. I will post some funny pics of her eating her toes. No teeth yet and despite the fact that she chews on everything, I think they are a ways out.
Hope everyone is doing well & I promise to overload the blog with new pics soon!!!!

4 Month Update

Alana had her 4 month check up appointment with the Doctor on Friday. She is officially 24 inches and 14 pounds, 11 ounces. That puts her in the 50% percentile for height and 75% for weight. So I guess all my concerns about her not eating enough were unfounded. The Doctor made sure to reiterate that the 75% for weight meant she was heavier than 75% of all babies her age. Um, thanks. Like I could not figure that out on my own...She was NOT pleased when he put the stethoscope on her and pretty much screamed her head off. I think her short fuse has come roaring back. She is having shot flashbacks too and has had a few screaming attacks. Hopefully she thinks of more blissful memories soon and forgets about the shots!!!
The Doctor also suggested it was time for some cereal via spoon. We jumped right in and gave it a whirl on Friday. I, of course, pushed my luck and the first time we tried it, she was so hungry she started crying. After a quick 2 ounce bottle, she was ready for action and LOVED the cereal and enjoyed eating with a spoon.Things were pretty messy, but after a few tries, she is getting the hang of it.

Easter, continued.

After lunch, we took a little stroll through the neighborhood since it was (relatively) nice out. Alana passed out in her stroller. She is so much happier now that we have a much better "city" stroller. (Walking around the neighborhood in her car seat & frame makes you realize just how bad city sidewalks are!) Hopefully we will get LOTS of use out of the jogging stroller this summer!

Like Father, Like Daughter. Passed out on the couch from all the excitement!

Easter, continued

We had a fun Easter with my mom, Kristi & cousin Kayli. Unfortunately Jen and the kids could not make it because Nick was sick. Fortunate for us, she sent along her famous quiche. It was delicious! We had a pretty low-key day. Drank some champagne, ate and just hung out.
